José de Jesús López y González, Bishop of Aguascalientes
On March 30, 1928, a bishop was consecrated for the first time in the Motherhouse Chapel of the Incarnate Word, José de Jesús López y González, Bishop of Aguascalientes.
In Aguascalientes, he would later in 1929 found the congregation Las Hermanas Maestras Católicas del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús (Catholic Teachers of the Sacred Heart of Jesus), MCSC.

El 30 de marzo de 1928, se consagró por primera vez un obispo en la capilla de la Casa Madre del Verbo Encarnado, José de Jesús López y González, obispo de Aguascalientes.
En Aguascalientes, más tarde, en 1929, fundaría la congregación Las Hermanas Maestras Católicas del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús (MCSC).

"Another event of recent occurrence, the account of which will surely find its way into the annals, must be recorded here. Our chapel, which certainly is not an ancient edifice, has been the scene of many important functions; but that which took place within its hallowed precincts on Friday, March 30, feast of Our Lady of Dolors, is unique in its history, namely, the consecration of a Bishop, - the Right Rev. Jose J. Lopez, Auxiliary Bishop of Aguascalientes, Mexico. His Grace, Archbishop Drossaerts, occupied the throne in the sanctuary, while the Right Rev. Bishop Valdespino, aided by the two assistant consecrating Bishops, performed the ceremony of consecration. Two other Mexican Bishops and sixteen priests were present. This sacred function must have afforded consolation to the exiled Prelates, seeing that the spiritual power of Mother Church, through persecuted by her enemies, can never be an exile."

"Otro acontecimiento reciente, cuyo relato sin duda pasará a los anales, debe quedar registrado aquí. Nuestra capilla, que ciertamente no es un edificio antiguo, ha sido escenario de muchas funciones importantes; pero lo que tuvo lugar dentro de sus sagrados recintos el viernes 30 de marzo, fiesta de Nuestra Señora de los Dolores, es único en su historia, a saber, la consagración de un obispo, el reverendísimo José J. López, obispo auxiliar de Aguascalientes, México. Su Excelencia, el arzobispo Drossaerts, ocupó el trono en el santuario, mientras que el reverendo obispo Valdespino, asistido por los dos obispos consagrantes auxiliares, ofició la ceremonia de consagración. Estuvieron presentes otros dos obispos mexicanos y dieciséis sacerdotes. Esta sagrada función debió de ser un consuelo para los prelados exiliados, al ver que el poder espiritual de la Madre Iglesia, aunque perseguido por sus enemigos, nunca puede ser exiliado."

Sister María del Refugio Caldera Monreal, Sister Ana Lilia Mares de Luna and local superior Sister Ana Luisa Chávez Leos wished to visit San Antonio to see where their founder, Bishop Lopez y Gonzalez, was consecrated. They gifted us with blessed medallions and portraits, and it was a shared pleasure to recall the consecration in the Motherhouse Chapel. /
La hermana María del Refugio Caldera Monreal, la hermana Ana Lilia Mares de Luna y la superiora local, la hermana Ana Luisa Chávez Leos, deseaban visitar San Antonio para ver dónde fue consagrado su fundador, el obispo López y González. Nos obsequiaron con medallones y retratos bendecidos, y fue un placer compartido recordar la consagración en la capilla de la casa madre.
